A unique voice for the modern horn.

A native of Las Vegas, Chris Castellanos joined the Las Vegas Philharmonic at 19 and quickly became a first-call freelancer on the Strip. His credits include more than 1,700 performances of Phantom — The Las Vegas Spectacular, Broadway productions and appearances behind many of the world’s best-known artists. Moving between orchestral, Broadway, commercial and popular styles helped shape the versatility and individual voice that define his playing.

After six years with Dallas Brass, Chris joined Boston Brass in 2009 as hornist, arranger and co-owner. Touring more than 180 days each year, he performs internationally as a chamber musician, soloist and clinician while championing distinctive new repertoire for horn.

Chris serves as Visiting Assistant Professor of Horn at UNLV and has taught in every U.S. state and more than 40 countries. He has been a Yamaha Performing and Educational Artist since 2015.
